Energy Medicine – New science-based treatments?

Tuesday September 6th, 2022, at 14.30
Auditorium 1, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences Universitetsparken 2, 2100 Copenhagen Ø

Energy medicine covers a broad range of treatments and diagnostic tools. Whereas the diagnostics are well-known and widely used, energy medicine as treatment has obtained less scientific attention. However, in recent years, life science has shown an increasing interest in this field. Modern pharmaceutical innovation often relies on progress in biochemistry and molecular biology where drug targets are localized in specific organs and rely on drug-receptor interactions. Contrary to this, energy medicines build on biophysical phenomena from sources such as heat, light and sound as well as on electric and magnetic fields. This seminar aims at introducing the science of energy medicine for the treatments of disease with three examples which are already in use or in progress in scientific studies.
